USE OF SEALANT
Sealant is required on vent system joints, (figure 7). On longer vent runs, especially vertical runs,
sealant will ensure that the combustion air enters from outdoors, and not through the vent joints. Use
high temperature sealant, available from local suppliers, on the inner pipe joint, applying the sealant
around the outside of the male part of the vent. A bead of silicone should be used on the outside of
the joint after assembly to seal the supply air. If the venting is disconnected for servicing, be sure to
follow above instructions for resealing venting when reconnecting to system.

To fasten the Restrictor Plate to the ceiling of the firebox:
1/. Remove the 2 screws that are in place
2/. Align holes in the Restrictor that match the required degree of restriction
3/. Fasten Restrictor Plate back in place.

A minimum clearance to combustibles must be maintained around the vent pipe of 1”
on all horizontal and vertical pipe runs
