MOWER OPERAVING
JNSTRUCYiONS
READ THE "RULES FOR SAFE OPERA-
TION" CAREFULLY BEFORE OPERAT-
ING YOUR MOWER_
THE MOWER MUST BE LEVELED FROM FRONT TO
REAR BEFORE OPERATING THIS IS NECESSARY FOR
LEVEL AND EFFICIENT MOWING REFER TO PAGE 16
1 Place Attachment Clutch Lever in "DISENGAGED"
Position (Fig 36)
2 Push tractor Clutch-£rake Pedal (Fig 32) fully into brake
position,
3, Place Gear Shift Lever in "N" position (Fig, 36)
NOTE; TRACTOR MUST BE IN "N" AND MOWER BLADE
CLUTCH LEVER IN "DISENGAGED" POSITION BEFORE
TRACTOR W1LL START,
4, Start tractor and set engine speed to about 1/3 to 1/2 throt-
tle before engaging mower. After mower is "ENGAGED"
and you have started forward travel, set to FULL THROT,.

SITTING ON TRACTOR SEAT.
Bo Start mowing in Iow range and increase ground speed by
moving Varidrive Control Lever (Fig, 36) forward as condi-
tions will permit. Average cutting height is approximately
2 -, 1/2 to 2 3/4 inches, Height of cut can be adjusted by
means of the Lift Lever (Fig. 37). Moving the Lever for-
ward lowers the mower, Moving it rearward raises the
mower. The Lift Lever is actuated by depressing the Lift
Lever Pfunger at the top of the lever handle (Fig 37), Move
Attachment Lift Lever rearward to highest position Adjust
Depth Control Knob (clockwise or counterclockwise) to
desired cutting height (Fig 37) Attachment Lift Lever
stops at preselected height
6. Drive so that clippings are discharged onto the area that
has been cut. The Roll. Runner can be used as a guide
line for line of cut (Fig° 36)° Have the cut area to the right
of the machine, This wilt result in a more even distribution
of clippings and more uniform cutting. When mowing large
areas (Fig, 38), start by turning to the right so that the
clippings w_ll be discharged away from shrubs, fences,
driveways, etc. After two or three rounds, mow in the
opposite direction making left hand turns until finished.
If grass is extreme!y tall. it should be mowed twice The
first time cut relatively high, The second time to the desired
height. The left hand side of mower should be used for
trimming.
DO NOT OPERATE THE MOWER WITH-
OUT THE-'--ENTIRE GRASS CATCHER,
ON MOWERS SO EQUIPPED, OR THE
DEFLECTOR SHIELD 1N PLACE.
NOTE: TIRE CHAINS CANNOT BE USED WITH THE
MOWER HOUSING ATTACHED,
