ADJUSTMENT
FOR ANY ADJUSTMENTS, INSPECTION
OR MAINTENANCE:
ADJUST MOWER TO MIDDLE OF CUT-
TING RANGE AS FOLLOWS, WITH LIFT
CONTROL LEVER LOCKED IN UP
(REAR) POSITION, TURN ATTACHMENT
DEPTH CONTROL KNOB COUNTER-
CLOCKWISE UNTIL LIFT LEVER IS tN
MID RANGE (FIG. 32). ENGAGE THE
PARKING BRAKE, RETURN SHIFT
CONTROL LEVER TO NEUTRAL. SHUT
OFF ENGINE, MAKE ABSOLUTELY
SURE THE BLADES AND ALL MOVING
PARTS HAVE COMPLETELY STOPPED°
REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY, DISCON-
NECT THE SPARK PLUG AND KEEP
WIRE AWAY FROM THE PLUG TO PRE-
VENT INJURY FROM ACCIDENTAL
STARTING.
NOTE: BEFORE CHECKING THE SIDE TO SIDE AND
FRONT TO REAR ADJUSTMENTS BELOW, BE SURE
PRESSURE IN FRONT TIRES IS 14 POUNDS AND PRES-
SURE IN REAR TIRES IS t2 POUNDS. IT IS NECESSARY
TO HAVE TIRES PROPERLY INFLATED WHEN LEVEL-
ING THE MOWER
LEVEL MOWER FROM SIDE
TO SIDE
1. Rotate Blades by hand so that they are in line w_th width
of the tractor.
2, Measure the height of the tips of outer blades (Fig, 33).
Both R.H. and L.H, must be the same distar.ce from level
surface within 1/8 of an inch.
3, If adjustment is required, remove Retainer Spring and
Washer (Fig. 34) on LH. side Center Pivot Pin of Suspen-
sion Arms leaving Lift Link free°
a Turn Link clockwise to raise L,H_ side of mower.
b Turn Link counterclockwise to lower L_H side of
mower
NOTE: ONE TURN (180 °) WILL EQUAL 1/16" HEIGHT
CHANGE.
4o Replace Washer and Retainer Spring on Center Pivot Pin of
Suspension Arms.
ADJUST MOWER FROM FRONT
TO REAR
1, Your Mower should cut approximately 3/16" lower at
front than at the rear, With R.H_ Mower Blade in line with
length of tractor, measure the height of the front tip of
Blade (Fig. 33). Rotate Blade 1/2 turn and measure_ The
front tip must be approximately 3/16 of an inch lower
than the rear tip of blade.
2 If adjustment is required, loosen Front to Rear Adjustment
Nuts (Fig 35) move up or down to obtain the above pitch
or difference front to rear Adjusting the Nuts up wit1
lower the rear of the mower Lowering Nuts will _aise the
_ear of the mower Tighten the two Nuts securely against
Cross Bar (Fig 35)
