DALLY MAINTENANCE
Make sure all nuts on bolts are tight and cotter pins are secure.
Observe all safety precautions. Keep Tractor well lubricated
(refer to page 14)
FIRST _ HOURS
1. CHANGE ENGINE OIL
Changing Oil after the first two hours will help eliminate
break-ln residue which might be damaging to your Engine.
NOTE: Be careful not to allow dirt to enter the Engine when
changing oil,

Drain Oil with Engine warm Unscrew Oil Drain Plug
(Fig. 16) and remove Dipstick. Catch Oil in a suitable
container Replace Plug
Refill Engine Oil In summer use S AE. 30 (SC, SD, SE
or SF) Oil. In winter' (below 32°F.) use S,,A.E 10W30
(SC, SD, SE or SF) or 10W40 (SC, SD, SE or SF). tn
extreme cold (below 0°F) use SA E. 5W20 (SC, SD,
SE or SF). Refill capacity is 3 pints NOTE: DO NOT
OVERFILL. Replace Dipstick,
2. CHECK BELl" TENSION
NOTE: CHECK BELT ADJUSTMENT FREQUENTLY; NEW
BELTS MAY STRETCH AFTER THE FIRST FEW HOURS
OF OPERATION, PROPER BELT ADJUSTMENT LENGTH-
ENS BELT LIFE

Place Tractor on level ground and block rear wheels
(front and back on both sides). Place mower in its
!owest position (Fig 37 .- Inset)
With engine running, and Gear Shift Lever in neutral
position, place Varidrive Control Lever in slow position
(Fig. 17), Do not depress Clutch Brake Pedal.
Stop the engine and remove Spark Plug Wire to prevent
accidental starting. Check the ride of the Primary Belt
(Fig. 20) in the Variator (Fig. t8). If the outer edge of
the Primary Belt rides deeper than 1/8" inside the edge
of the Variator, adjustment is required. (See V-Belt Ad-
justment, page 9). If belt rides less than 1/8" of the edge
of the Variator, belt adjustment tension may still be
required, (Refer to VoBelt Adjustment),
