9 .3 Quest ions a nd Answ ers
Quest ion:
W h e n t he scanner is pow e r e d on,
it m a k es noises a nd w on’t st and
ready.
Answ er: There are two possibilities:
1) You m ight fail to push the scanner
shipping lock t o it s “ unlocked” posit ion.
I f this is the case, pull t he scanner
st at us swit ch t o it s “ unlocked” posit ion
first .
2) The scanner is not placed on an
even, flat desktop surface. This m ay
cause the scanner to m alfunct ion.
Quest ion:
Paper becom es j am m ed during
sca n ning.
Answ er:
1) Open the front door.
2) Pull out t he j am m ed paper carefully.
3) Close t he front door.
Quest ion:
More t han one sheet of paper are
fed int o t he scanner.
Answ er:
1) Open the scanner front door.
2) Rem ove the m ult i-fed sheet s.
3) Close t he front door.
4) Flatt en the corners and edges.
Loosen the paper before putting it
int o the paper guide again.
5) Check the feeding roller condit ion.
I f necessary, follow the cleaning
directions in sect ion 7.1 and
perform t he cleaning.
