#1 Does this function as a toaster oven as well? Can it make toast?

It can toast bread, I like to preheat it first as I get better results that way. I just crank it to 400, let it run for a minute before placing the toast in the bottom. After that I put a metal fork on top because the fan on mine is really powerful and sometimes blows the toast around. You just have to be very careful removing it with the fork on top of you use my method.

#2 will it cook a whole chicken?

I have not cooked a whole chicken yet, but it should. Need to cook at a 300 to 325 degree setting. It will take more time than if the chicken was cut up. You will need to keep a close eye on it and add or delete time as needed. Good luck!
