– Remove the tyre filler bottle from the valve and screw the valve
insert into the tyre valve.
Inflating the tyre
– Take the compressor out of the luggage compartment.
– Screw the compressor tyre filler hose firmly onto the tyre valve.
– Plug the compressor into an on-board socket.
– Switch on the compressor. Make sure that the bleed screw on the
tyre pressure gauge is closed.
1. Run the compressor until the tyre pressure has reached 2.5 -
3.5 bar.
– If this pressure is not reached, drive (or reverse) the vehicle
approx. 10 meters so that the sealing compound is more evenly
distributed in the tyre. Pump up the tyre again.
– If the required pressure can still not be reached, the tyre is too
badly damaged. The tyre cannot be sealed with the breakdown
set. Do not attempt to travel in the vehicle and contact the
nearest qualified dealership.
2. Drive the vehicle at a maximum speed of 80 km/h (50 mph) once
a tyre pressure of 2.5 - 3.5 bar has been reached.
3. Check the tyre pressure after you have been driving for
10 minutes.
Checking the tyre pressure after driving for 10 minutes
– Connect the compressor tyre filler hose again and read off the
tyre pressure.
If after driving for 10 minutes the pressure is below 1.8 bars
– Do not drive on. The tyre cannot be sealed sufficiently with the
breakdown set.
– In this case you should contact the nearest qualified dealership

If after driving for 10 minutes the pressure is above 1.8 bars
– Correct the tyre pressure (see sticker on the inside of the tank
flap).
– Resume your journey to the nearest qualified dealership with a
maximum speed of 80 km/h (50 mph).
– Have the damaged tyre replaced.
The breakdown kit is located behind the right hand cover of the luggage
compartment. Tyres repaired with the breakdown set are intended for tempo-
rary, emergency use only. Use only until you can reach a dealership. Tyres
repaired with the breakdown set must be replaced. Please follow the instruc-
tions in the manual enclosed in the breakdown set.
Do not remove foreign objects (e. g. screws or nails) from the tyre.
The breakdown set can be used at outside temperatures down to -20° C.
Observe the expiry date on the breakdown set. The tyre filler bottle should be
replaced when the expiry date has passed or if the set is used. We recom-
mend you consult a SEAT Service Centre.
WARNING
• If you have a puncture, stop the car well away from moving traffic.
Switch on the hazard warning lights and set the emergency triangle in
position. Please observe legal requirements when doing so.
