Ivation IVA-DM45 Questions and Answers

#1 After a couple of months we now have mold in the water
container. Any way to open it completely? We've tried, soap
and hot water, no luck.

No, there is no way to open it completely. Try peroxide (my
favorite) or concrobium (recommended) to get rid of the mold.

#2 If placed in a room that is kept closed all the time, how will air
move through the unit if it has no moving parts?

It has a fan and moves air with the built in fan. Ours has
become louder but still operates very well (it is in a dusty area
of our home.

#3 Does this unit generate much heat? Will it resume operation
automatically if a power outage is experienced, or does it
require being manually reset?

It does generate a little heat. Nothing compared to
compressor dehumidifiers. And it will resume operation
after being unplugged and plugged back in shortly after, a
minute or so, so I would assume it would continue after a
power outage.

#4 Assuming power goes out for a long period of time while it is
running, will it turn back on when power comes back?

Yes it will turn on as long as the power switch is left on..it
does default back to 50 percent humidity so if the humidity
in the area is under that it will not start pulling humidity
from the air..if the airs humidity is over 50 it will start the
process..if you wish you can toggle the down switch to
readjust..if you turn the main power switch off to empty the
water tank the same thing well be seen when the power is
turned back on.

#5 Would this be good for a bathroom with a shower?

Yes, this will help dry out the room. When the shower is off, of
course. This would work for a small to medium sized
bathroom.

#6 Can the unit be mounted on the wall?

No it can not be mounted. Every side had a use, but It is
compact enough to set on a wide shelf.

#7 Would this work well for a basement that's approximately 350
square feet?

Yes, that's where ours is and it works very well
