Building in the appliance
58
Positioning the appliance
Take care not to trap the power
cord when pushing the appliance
into its niche.
To prevent damage to the floor,
take care when moving the appliance
on floors that are sensitive to
scratching.
The appliance feet can break off.
The feet should be almost fully
screwed in when you push the appli-
ance into the niche.
Tip: Before pushing the appliance into
the niche, loosen the two rear feet by
half a turn. After pushing the appliance
into the niche, the feet will be easier to
adjust from the front (see “Aligning the
appliance”).
Lay the power cord so that the appli-
ance can be connected easily once
installed.
Tip: Tie a piece of string to the plug to
“lengthen” the power cord; this will help
you to push the appliance into position.
Then pull the power cord through the
cabinet by the other end of the string.
If the appliance is pushed too far into
the niche, the doors may not close
properly once the door panels have
been installed. This can cause ice to
build up, condensate to accumulate,
and cause the appliance to malfunc-
tion. These can all lead to increased
energy consumption.
Push the appliance into the building-
in niche making sure a gap of
15/8” (42mm) is maintained all
round between the appliance casing
and the front of the cabinet side
walls.
Push the appliance into the niche un-
til the front edges of the hinges at the
top and bottom are flush with the
front edge of the cabinet unit side
wall.
This ensures a distance of
15/8” (42mm) to the front edges of
the cabinet side walls all the way
round.
