User Manual

SETTING UP/REPLAGING BATTERIES

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with all the instruotions and warnings provided in this manual before using the produet. Failure to comply with the instruotions/wamings provided herein may add to inaceurate results and/or cause damage to the product itself. Save this manual for future reference.

NOTE: The devioe uses and is shipped with 2 AAA DC 1.5 V batteries.

  • Open the baftery compartment located on he rear side of the seale.
  • lf replacing batferies, take out the old ones and dispose hem properly.
  • Insert 2 AAA DC 1.5 V batferies in the battery compartment, noling the polarities of each.
  • Ensure that the batteries are installed coirectly.

OPERATION

  • Place the scale on a fiat, hard and dry surface.
  • Place the measuring bowl/container on the weighing- platfom before turning-on the soale (optional)
  • Press the ON/OFF butfon lo tur-on the scale lf the diaplay shows values other than zero:
  • Make sure that the device rests on a flat surface and is not tilted and that no weight is placed on the weighing-platfom prior to measuremeni.
    • Ensure that there is no wind turbulence either.
    • Press the 'Z/T” button †o reset the display fo zero.
  • Once the LCD displays zero, place the objeot to be measured on (he center of the weighing-platfom.
  • Allow the scale a few seconds to adjusf to the weight of the object.
  • The display should read the accurate weight of the object.

CONVERTING UNIT

NOTE: The default measurement unit is pounds (lb.) for weight and Fahrenheit (°F) for temperature. The device can also measure weight in kilograms-grams OR Ounces

To change measurement unit, press the UNIT button.

ZERO OR TARE OPERATION

NOTE: The Zero/Tare (Z/T) function is the deduction of the weight of the container from the total (gross) weight It is useful to determine the net weight of the contents excluding the container which holds them.

  • Set-up the device as mentioned above and power it on.
  • Place the container/object, whose weighi is to be excluded, on the center of the weighing-platform and wait for a few seconds.
  • Press the Z/T” button †o zero or tare the current weight of the containerfobject.
  • The display should now show all zeros and the icon ZERO or TARE depending on the weight of the container.
  • Place the item(s) you want weighed in the container (or close to the center of the weighing-platform if not using a container), to measure the net weight of the contents/items.

IMPORTANT: Please be aware of the maximum capaciiy of the scale when using the Zero/Tare function (See below)

CASE I: ZERO FUNCTION

The scale uses ZERO funotion when the total sum of all loads on scale is < 4% of the seale's maximum weighing capacity

[0.18lb (80g) for a maximum capacity of 4.41Ib (2kg) | 0.44Ib (200g) for a maximum capacity of 11.02lb (5kg)]

When in 'ZERO' mode, LCD should show 0 lb./g along with the ZERO icon in the lower-left corner.

NOTE: Maximum capaoity of the scale remains unchanged in ZERO mode.

CASE II: Tare function


The scale uses ZERO funcfion when the tofal sum of all loads on scale is > 4% of the scale's maximum weighing capacity

[0.18Ib (B0g) for a maximum capacity of 4.41Ib (2kg) | 0.44Ib (200g) for a maximum capacity of 11.02lb (5kg)]

When in 'TARE' mode, LCD should show 0 Ib./g along with the TARE icon in the upper-left corner.

NOTE: Maximum capacity of the scale is now reduced by the total weight of the loads.

SETTING TIMER FOR ALARM

The device also has a built-in alarm.

  • Press the T-SET butfon
  • Use the Z/T or UNIT bufton to set time period.
  • Press T-SET bufton to confirm and activafe the alarm.
  • Press any key to deacfivate the alam.

NOTE: Maximum time-span: 998m: 59s, alam durafion: 70 secon

MEASURING TEMPERATURE

NOTE: The device automatically measures and displays the cuirent room temperature on the top right corner of the LCD

Temperature range: 32°F to 104°F

Resolulion: 0.5°F

TURNING OFF THE DEVICE

The device will automatically tum-off after 2 minutes of inactivity.

MANUAL SHUT OFF

Press than ON/OFF butfon to manually tum-off the davice.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION AND WARNING INDICATORS

  • Do not exceed the 11.02lb/5kg weight capacify. An owerload indicator will appear on the digital display if this limit is exceeded.
  • Place the batleries with proper polarities.
  • The seale is not for commercial or heavy-dufy use.
  • Batferies musf be replaced when display gets dimmer or the Low baftery indicator is displayed

MAINTENANCE AND TIPS

  • To get an accurate reading, always place the objecf on the center of the weighing-plafform.
  • Always allow the scale to acclimate to normal room-terperature beïore using.
  • Make sure that the scale is placed on a flat surface. Uneven or tilted surfaces may contribute †o inaccurate results.
  • Dirt, dust, vibration, wind, air-currents and electromagnetic interference may resulf in inaccurate results.
  • Avoid exposure of the device to extreme heaf or cold and damp environmeni.
  • DO NOT exceed the 11.02lb/5kg rating as doing so might permanenfly damage the device andor the sensor inside.
  • Store the scale in a dry environment.
  • Clean with a soff cloth Íf necessary.

CAUTION: DO NOT submerge the device in liquid. All plasfic parts should be cleaned immediately after contact with fat, spices, vinegar and/or colored foods. Avoid contact withi acidicfcirus foods.
