Yourwirelessdeviceisaradiotransmitterandreceiver.Itisdesignedand

manufacturednottoexceedtheemissionlimitsforexposuretoRadio

Frequency(RF)energysetbytheFederalCommunicationsCommission

oftheU.S.Government.Theselimitsarepartofcomprehensiveguidelines

andestablishpermittedlevelsofRFenergyforthegeneralpopulation.The

guidelinesarebasedonstandardsthatweredevelopedbyindependent

scientificorganizationsthroughperiodicandthoroughevaluationofscientific

studies.Thestandardsincludeasubstantialsafetymargindesignedto

assurethesafetyofallpersons,regardlessofageandhealth.

Theexposurestandardforwirelessmobiledevicesemploysaunitof

measurementknownastheSpecificAbsorptionRate,orSAR.TheSARlimit

setbytheFCCis1.6W/kg.

TestsforSARareconductedusingstandardoperatingpositionsspecifiedby

theFCCwiththedevicetransmittingatitshighestcertifiedpowerlevelinall

testedfrequencybands.AlthoughSARisdeterminedatthehighestcertified

powerlevel,theactualSARlevelofthedevicewhileoperatingcanbewell

belowthemaximumvalue.Becausethedeviceisdesignedtooperateat

multiplepowerlevelstouseonlythepowerrequiredtoreachthenetwork,in

general,thecloseryouaretoawirelessbasestationantenna,thelowerthe

poweroutput.

Beforeadevicemodelisavailableforsaletothepublic,itmustbetested

andcertifiedtotheFCCthatitdoesnotexceedthelimitestablishedby

thegovernment-adoptedrequirementforsafeexposure.Thetestsare

performedinpositionsandlocations(e.g.,attheearandwornonthebody)

asrequiredbytheFCCforeachmodel.
