CARING FOR THE FILTERS
The greasefilters should be removed and cleaned often,at least once a month.
NOTE: Ifyour microwave hood combination is installedto recirculate air,the charcoal filter
(Part No.5230W1A003A)is availablefrom Sears bycalling 1-800-4-MY-HOME'_.
The charcoalfilter cannot be cleaned and should be replaced every 6 to 12 months.
CHARCOAL FILTER REPLACEMENT
If youroven isvented inside, thecharcoal filter should
be replaced every 6 to 12 months, and moreoften if
necessary.The charcoal filter cannot be cleaned. To
order a new charcoal filter,see informationin NOTE
above.
1. Disconnect poweror unplug microwave oven.
2. Remove the two vent grille mounting screws.
1.Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
2.To remove greasefilters,slideeach filter to the
side.Pull filtersdownward and push to the other
side.The filterwill drop out.
3.Soak grease filtersin hotwater and a mild
detergent. Scrub and swish to remove embedded
dirt and grease. Rinsewell and shake to dry. Do
not cleanfilters with ammonia, corrosive cleaning
agents such as lye-based oven cleaners, or place
them in a dishwasher. The filterswill turn black or
could be damaged.
4.To replace greasefilters,slidefilter in the frame slot
on one side of theopening. Push filter upward and
push to the otherside to lock into place.
3.Tip the grilleforward, thenlift out to remove.
4. Remove bulb holder
5.Slide a new charcoalfilter intoplace.
The filter should rest at the angle shown.
6. Slide the bottom of the vent grille into place.
Push the top untilitsnaps into place.
Replace the mounting screws.
7. Reconnect power or plug in microwave oven.
