Philips BRE650/50 Questions and Answers

#1 Can I rinse my Philips Satinelle depilation products with water?

You can rinse your Philips Satinelle Epilator, Trimmer or Shaver only if it is fully waterproof. You can check that by looking at the signs and symbols printed on your device's box or the back of the handle.
Crossed out tap symbol
If you see a crossed-out tap symbol on the box or body of your Philips female hair removal devices, it means that the product is not washable. These products are only suitable for dry use and should be cleaned without water. Use a brush to brush off the hairs that have accumulated inside your product.
Tap symbol
A tap symbol printed on your Philips Satinelle device indicates that it is washable and its removable parts (cutters and combs) can be cleaned with water. Keep in mind, this does not mean that you can use it to clip or trim your hair in the shower or bath. Remove the head from the handle before rinsing it under the tap. Make sure the parts are completely air dried before putting the device back together.
Bath or shower symbol
If you see a shower or bath symbol printed on your Philips hair removal product, , it means that your device is waterproof. It can be safely cleaned with water and used while taking a shower or a bath. For safety reasons, these waterproof devices can only be used cordless and will not turn on if they are connected to the power supply.

Note: Please keep in mind that the symbols on your Philips Satinelle products vary per model type. If you are still unsure whether it is safe to clean your device with water, then please contact us for further support.

#2 Where is the model and serial number of my Philips Satinelle depilation device?

The model and serial number of your Philips Satinelle Epilator, Lady Shaver or Trimmer is printed on the back of the handle of the device.

The model number is often needed when registering your product or when looking for information about your specific model. This starts with the letters BRE or BRL followed by three digits or HP followed by four digits.
The serial number is printed below the model number. This is used to identify the production date of your product and is in the format YYWW.

#3 How do I change the speed settings of my Philips Satinelle Epilator?

There are two speed setting options available. You can select the low speed or the high speed setting by pressing the on/off button or by sliding the speed setting slide up.
If you press the on/off button once, Philips Satinelle Epilator starts on a high speed setting (setting II). If you press on/off again, the speed setting changes to a low speed (setting I). When you press on/off button the third time, your epilator switches off.
Note: The Satinelle Essential epilator is equipped with 2 speed settings. When using the shaving head, there is only 1 speed setting available. This setting is most ideal for shaving.

#4 How do I charge my Philips Satinelle Epilator?

Charging instructions
When the battery indicator on your epilator starts flashing orange, or the epilator runs slower than usual, it means that the epilator needs to be recharged. We recommend charging the epilator after each use.
To charge your Philips Epilator, insert the small plug of the charging cable into the socket in the bottom of your epilator and plug the charger in a working electric socket.
The charging indicator on your epilator flashes white to indicate that the device is charging. After approximately 15 minutes, the battery indicator starts flashing white slowly. At this point, the battery contains enough energy for up to 10 minutes of epilation. However, we recommend fully charging your epilator for at least 1.5 hours. This will give the epilator enough power to operate cordless for 40 minutes.
When the charging indicator lights up white continuously, it means the epilator is fully charged. Once it is fully charged but still plugged in to an electric socket the battery indicator flashes a few times when you press the on/off button. This indicates that you should unplug your epilator.
Please keep in mind that the charging instructions may vary for your particular epilator model. In this case check the user manual of your product or contact us for further help.
