Battery Grip BG-E14

Instructions
Thank you for purchasing a Canon product.
The BG-E14 is a battery grip that can hold two Battery Pack LP-E6
or
si
x size-ANLR6 batteries. It is also equipped with a vertical-grip
shutter button, Main
Dial, etc. to enable shooting
in
the same way
as with horizontal grip.
• Attaching to the Camera
1. Remove the battery from the camera (Fig. 1 ).
2.
Pull out the camera's battery compartment cover at a slanted
angle
to detach (Fig. 2).
3. Detach the protective cover (Nomenclature
CD
).
4.
Attach the removed battery compartment cover to the cover
holder.
• Slide the hinge part
of
the battery compartment cover into the
battery compartment cover holder (Fig.
3-1
), and press on
the cover
until it snaps into place (Fig. 3-2).
•
To
detach the battery compartment cover, slide the battery
compartment cover release
lever to unlock it (Fig. 3-3), and
then detach the cover by performing the attaching procedure
in
reverse
.
5. Insert the electrical contacts into the battery compartment
(Fig. 4-1).
6.
Align the attachment screw with the camera's tripod socket,
and then turn the attach/detach
dial
to
tighten securely to the
camera (Fig. 4-2).

• Installing the Battery Packs
1. After flipping out the release handle, turn it as shown by
th
e
arrow, and then
pull out the Battery Magazine BGM-E14A (for
size-ANLR6 batteries) (Fig.
5).
2. Insert Battery Pack LP-E6 (one or two packs) into the Battery
Magazine BGM-E14L (for LP-E6) (Fig. 6).
3.
Attach the battery magazine into the battery grip (Fig. 7-1).
• After attaching,
check that the battery magazine is securely
attached to the battery grip .
4.
Close the release handle (Fig. 7-2).
• Installing and Removing Size-AAILR6
Batteries
1.
Insert the batteries into the battery magazine (for size-ANLR6
batteries) (Fig.
8-1
).
• Make sure the
+
and-
battery contacts are properly oriented
as shown on the battery magazine.
•
To
remove the batteries, turn the battery magazine over and
push the batteries through the
holes (Fig. 8-2).
2.
Attach the battery magazine into the battery grip (Fig. 7-1).
• After attaching, check that the battery magazine is securely
attached to the battery grip.
3.
Close the release handle (Fig. 7 -2).
• Using a Household Power Outlet
To
connect to a household power outlet, use the AC Adapter Kit
ACK-E6
(sold separately).
1. Connect the DC coupler
plug
to
the AC adapter socket. Connect
the power cord to the
AC
adapter. (Refer to the ACK-E6
Instructions.)
2. Attach the DC coupler
to
the release-handle-side
of
the battery
magazine (for LP-E6)
(Fig
. 9).
3. Pass the DC coupler cord through the cord mount (groove)
(Fig.
10-1 ), route through the
DC
coupler cord mount
(Fig. 1
0-2), and then attach the battery magazine to the battery
grip.
