12.Clean the fork assembly, especially the sliding
surface (23) of the slider and dust seal (24).
13.Record the rebound damping adjuster position
and turn the adjuster counterclockwise until it
stops.
14.Measure the length (25) between the axle
holder and outer tube and record it before
disassembling the fork.

16.Drain the fork oil from the outer tube (26).
Drain the fork oil from the oil hole (32) of the
fork damper.

15.Hold the outer tube (26), then remove the fork
damper (27) from the outer tube using the
lock nut wrench (28). Gently slide the outer
tube down onto the lower end of the slider
(29).

11.Loosen the fork leg lower pinch bolts (22),
then pull the fork legs down and out.

Do not support the brake caliper by the brake
hose. Do not operate the front brake lever after
the front wheel is removed. To do so will cause
difficulty in fitting the brake disc between the
brake pads.

The outer tube (26) can drop on the slider (30)
and damage the fork dust seal (24) and guide
bushing (31) when the fork damper is removed.
To avoid damage hold both the outer tube and
slider when removing the fork damper.
