Trouble Shooting Steps
Burning Smell: Always feed the paper in as straight as possible. If paper is
inserted unevenly, it will crumple the paper and cause the machine to jam. The
smell emitted by the motor is common and harmless; it is the electrical arcing
between the brushes and the commutator of the motor.
For Even Shred: The paper must be inserted straight down into the paper slot.
If paper is inserted unevenly, it will crumple and cause the machine to jam.
Shredding: The shredder is equipped with a basket safety interlock switch.
Mount the shredder securely to the rim of the waste basket to ensure proper
activation of the basket safety switch. Also, make sure the detachable power cord
is properly inserted into the back of the shredder.
Also, the machine has a thermal sensor. If the machine is overheated, you’ll need
too cool down shredder before resuming operation.
Capacity: As advertised, the AS420C can shred up to 4 sheets of 20 lb. bond
paper in widths up to 8.5. ONE FOLDED SHEET OF PAPER EQUATES TO 2
SHEETS OF PAPER
