20 To disconnect, turn any control to “o,” then remove plug from wall outlet.

9 Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or let it touch hot surfaces.
10 Do not place your kettle on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
11 This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a

12 Do not attempt to modify or extend the power cord.

14 Unplug the power cord by holding the plug, never by pulling the cord.

16 The provided power cord is short to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or

17 WARNING: You may use an extension cord if proper care is exercised.
18 If you use an extension cord, make sure that:
• The marked electrical rating of the extension cord is at least as great as the electrical
rating of your kettle.
• The extension cord is not draped over a counter or table top where children can pull it
or trip over it.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of
electric shock, this plug is intended to t into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug
does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t, contact an electrician
to have a polarized outlet installed. Do not attempt to modify the plug.
Additional safety concerns
1 Before connecting your kettle to the power outlet, make sure that the voltage indicated
on the bottom of your kettle and base corresponds with the voltage in your home. If
this is not the case, contact your dealer and do not use your kettle.
2 The attached base must not be used for any purpose other than its intended use.
3 Even though boil-dry protection is built into your kettle, we recommend that you do
not operate your kettle without water to avoid damaging the heat elements.
4 If you try to operate your kettle without water, the boil-dry protection automatically
switches it o. If this should occur, let your kettle cool before lling it with cold water.
5 To prevent injury or damage from an overturned kettle, make sure that your kettle is
used on a rm and at surface where children cannot touch it.
6 Always make sure that you pour boiling water slowly and carefully without tipping
your kettle too fast.
7 Be careful when opening the lid for relling if your kettle is hot.
