Gas Connections
Natural Gas Requirements
Connect a suitable natural gas flex connector to the appliance regulator located on the rear right
corner of the
appliance. It is recommended to use a flex connector with a minimum of a ½” diameter or
larger.
Sealing all non-flared fittings with thread sealant or Teflon tape.
Ensure the flex connector is protected from sharp edges, heat, aggressive surfaces, and kinking.
Check the appliance controls to ensure all control valves are in the full OFF position.
Turn on the main gas supply and check all connections for leaks using soapy water as described in the
leak testing procedure
section.
The regulator used must be set for 4” water column and is for use with Natural gas only. Note: Most low
pressure regulators have a directional arrow indicating the direction in which the gas must travel.
Ensure the arrow is pointing in the direction of the appliance.
An installer supplied gas shutoff valve must be installed in an accessible place.
Liquid Propane (LP) Gas and Tank Requirements
If your BLAZE Grill is for a Liquid Propane application, a L.P regulator set for 11” WC must be used and is
for use with LP gas only.
The regulator and hose supplied may be used with a 20 lb. LP cylinder. However, this tank size is more
s
usceptible to freezing up due to the large consumption of gas from the burner. Hooking into a larger LP
gas tank safety located away from the outdoor kitchen can reduce this risk. Please make sure that yo
u
ha
ve met all local, city and state requirements as well any requirements by the fire department. Only use
a certified professional installer when using larger LP tanks.
A collar to protect the cylinder threads on the customer supplied tank.
An arrangement for gas vapor withdrawal.
