To manually set the IP address, proceed as follows.
1. Open a Command Prompt window.
At the Windows Start menu, select [All Programs] [Accessories] click [Command
Prompt] .
(If using Windows 10, [All Apps] [Windows System] click [Command Prompt].)
2. Use the telnet command to connect to the printer you wish to set.
Example: > telnet 192.168.1.84
IP address of the printer you wish to set.
Notes:
You cannot connect to a printer that does not have an IP address. If necessary, set a
temporary IP address for the printer before using telnet.
For instructions, refer to Section 7.3, "Manually Setting a Temporary IP Address."
3. Log into the printer as "root".
The factory default setting for the password is "public".
(If the password has been changed, use the current password.)
