Deck Wash (If Equipped)
Your mower’s deck is equipped with a water port on its surface as
part of its deck wash system.
Use the deck wash to rinse grass clippings from the deck’s
underside and prevent the buildup of corrosive chemicals.
Complete the following steps AFTER EACH MOWING:
Push the mower to a level, clear spot on your lawn, near 1.
enough for your garden hose to reach.
CAUTION: Make certain the mower’s discharge
chute is directed AWAY from your house, garage,
parked cars, etc.
Thread the hose coupler (packaged with your mower’s 2.
Operators Manual) onto the end of your garden hose.
Attach the hose coupler to the water port on your decks 3.
surface. See Fig. 6-2.
Turn the water on.4.
Start the engine as as instructed in the separate engine 5.
manual packed with your unit.
Run the engine for a minimum of two minutes, allowing 6.
the underside of the cutting deck to thoroughly rinse.
Release blade control to stop the engine and blade.7.
Turn the water off and detach the hose coupler from the 8.
water port on your deck’s surface.
IMPORTANT : After cleaning your deck, restart the mower. Keep
the engine and blade running for a minimum of two minutes,
allowing the underside of the cutting deck to thoroughly dry.

maintenance instructions.
Maintain engine oil as instructed in the separate engine 2.
manual packed with your unit. Read and follow instructions
carefully.
Under normal conditions service air cleaner as instructed in 3.
the separate engine manual packed with your unit. Clean
every few hours under extremely dusty conditions. Poor
engine performance and flooding usually indicates that the
air cleaner should be serviced.
The spark plug should be cleaned and the gap reset once 4.
a season. Spark plug replacement is recommended at the
start of each mowing season; check engine manual for
correct plug type and gap specifications.
NOTE: This spark ignition system meets all requirements of the
Canadian Interference-Causing Equipment Regulations.
Clean the engine regularly with a cloth or brush. Keep 5.
the cooling system (blower housing area) clean to
permit proper air circulation which is essential to engine
performance and life. Be certain to remove all grass, dirt
and combustible debris from muffler area.
