Playing with Groove Creator
The Groove Creator function lets you combine rhythmic preset patterns and phrases (each
called a Groove) from a variety of dance music genres for dynamic and powerful perfor-
mances.
Try out the expressive performance features, such as changing keys in the left-hand area
of the keyboard and rotating the knobs for dynamic sound variations.
1
Press the [GROOVE CREATOR] button, and
use the dial to select the desired Groove.
ACMP is automatically turned on, and the key-
board is divided into the Auto Accompaniment
area (page 31) and melody area.
2
Press the [ ] (Start/Stop) button to
start Groove playback.
You can also start playback by playing the keys in
the Auto Accompaniment area (page 31).
Use the following operations to make various
changes to the sound during Groove playback.
For details, refer to “Changing the Groove Sound”
on the right.
3
Press the [ ] (Start/Stop) button to
stop Groove playback.
Adjusting the Volume of the Groove
You can adjust the volume balance between Groove
playback and your keyboard performance. Adjust the
Function Settings (page 63, Function 034).
Changing the Tempo
Refer to “Changing the Tempo” on page 23.
Using the Tap Function
Refer to “Using the Tap Tempo Function” on page 23.
You can make various changes to the sound by per-
forming the following operations while playing back
the Groove.
Turning each track on/off
Use the TRACK CONTROL [1]-[6] buttons to turn
individual tracks on/off.
Changing sections
Use the SECTION [A]-[D] buttons to change sec-
tions.
Using the [MUSICAL CLIMAX] button
When you press the button, a negative count (indi-
cating a lead-in) appears on the display.
As the lead-in approaches 0, the Groove builds in
intensity and variation and comes to a musical cli-
max when the count reaches 0.
You can create dynamic and powerful perfor-
mances by switching to another section or another
Groove at a climax.
Moreover, this can also be used as an Ending; the
Groove stops after the count reaches 0 and an
Ending phrase is played.
Playing Back a Groove
By holding down the [SHIFT] button and pressing the [−]
or [+] button, you can select the first Groove in each
genre in order.
For a list of available Grooves and details about genres
and categories, refer to the Data List on the website
(page 11).
