Troubleshooting your fire table
Only a qualified service person should repair gas passages and associated components.
CAUTION: Always allow your fire table to cool before attempting service.
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
Burner won’t light using
igniter
The propane tank valve is
closed
Make sure that the regulator is securely attached to the
propane tank, see STEP 9: Installing the propane tank
on
page 20
. Open the propane tank valve.
The propane tank is low or
empty
Replace the propane tank.
The propane tank is leaking
Turn the propane tank valve to “CLOSED.”
Wait 5 minutes for gas to clear.
Follow “Checking for Leaks” section.
The igniter battery needs to
be changed
Replace the AA battery in the igniter.
The igniter electrode and
burners are wet
Wipe the igniter and burners dry with a cloth.
The igniter electrode is
cracked or broken
Replace the igniter - contact Customer Service where you
purchased your fire table.
A wire is loose on the igniter Reconnect the loose wire.
A wire on the igniter is
shorting
Replace the igniter - contact Customer Service where you
purchased your fire table.
Bad igniter Replace the igniter - contact Customer Service where you
purchased your fire table.
The propane tank is frosted Wait until the propane tank warms up and becomes
unfrosted.
Blockage in an orifice Clear blockage.
The control knob is not in the
ON position
Turn the control knob to the ON position.
Burner won’t light using a
match
The propane tank valve is
closed
Make sure that the regulator is securely attached to the
propane tank, see STEP 9: Installing the propane tank
on
page 20
. Open the propane tank valve.
The propane tank is low or
empty
Replace the propane tank.
The propane tank is leaking
Turn the propane tank valve to “CLOSED.”
Wait 5 minutes for gas to clear.
Follow the steps in STEP 10: Testing for gas leaks
on
page 22
.
Coupling nut and regulator
are not securely connected
Turn the coupling nut about one-half to three-quarters
additional turn until the connection is solid. Tighten by
hand only - do NOT use tools.
There is an obstruction in the
gas flow
•Clear burner/valve.
Check for bent or kinked hose.
The propane tank is frosted Wait until the propane tank warms up and becomes
unfrosted.
The control knob is not in the
ON position
Turn the control knob to the ON position.
The burner flame is low
The gas pressure is low Turn the tank valve OFF and replace the tank.
The outdoor temperature is
less than 40º F (4º C) and the
tank is less than 1/4 full
Use a full tank.
Control knob not fully ON Push the knob in and rotate it to your desired heat level.
