Unplug the printer and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions: if
the power cord or plug is damaged; if liquid has entered the product; if the product has been dropped
or the case damaged; if the product does not operate normally or exhibits a distinct change in
performance. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions.
If damage occurs to the plug, replace the cord set or consult a qualified electrician. If there are fuses in
the plug, make sure you replace them with fuses of the correct size and rating.
Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet if you are not going to use the printer for an extended
period.
Leave the ink cartridges installed. Removing the cartridges can dehydrate the print head and may
prevent the printer from printing.
Before transporting the printer, make sure that the print head is in the home (far right) position and the
ink cartridges are in place.
When storing or transporting the printer, stand it on its side with the front of the printer facing up.
The printer includes a built-in battery. When disposing of the printer, make sure to follow local battery
disposal regulations.

Ink Cartridge Safety Instructions
Keep ink cartridges out of the reach of children and do not drink the ink.
Keep the maintenance box out of the reach of children.
Be careful when you handle used ink cartridges; there may be ink remaining around the ink supply
port. If ink gets on your skin, wash it off thoroughly with soap and water. If it gets in your eyes, flush
them immediately with water. If discomfort or vision problems persist, see a doctor immediately. If ink
gets in your mouth, see a doctor immediately.
Do not put your hand inside the product or touch any cartridges during printing.
Do not allow dust or foreign objects to get inside the ink cartridge holder or you may not be able to
print. Carefully remove any dust or foreign objects from the holder before installing ink cartridges and
printing.
Install a new ink cartridge immediately after removing an expended one. Leaving cartridges
uninstalled can dry out the print head and may prevent the product from printing.
Install all ink cartridges; otherwise you cannot print.
Do not open an ink cartridge until you are ready to install it in the printer. This may prevent normal
operation.
