event
event
Use the event command to manage standard events and to create custom events. Use the no form of this command to
delete a custom event. When creating a custom event, select an easily remembered name as a label for the entry; this name
will be used in the command format event (<event-name>) when configuring the entry’s status and settings. To exit from
the event (<event-name>) command format, use either the end or exit commands.
Syntax
event <event-name> [<device-name> | <sensor-name>]
• device-name – Specifies the device to which the event applies.
• event-name – Specifies the standard event entry to be managed, or, specifies the name of a custom event to be created.
• sensor-name – Specifies the sensor to which the event applies.
no event <event-name>
• event-name – Specifies the custom event entry to be deleted. Standard events cannot be deleted.
Examples
The following command creates a custom event named “Event ABC”:
console> event “Event ABC”
Created Event ABC
console> event (Event ABC)>
