7 Troubleshootng
Problem Cause Remedy
No crema.
Coffee old or too dry. Use fresh coffee.
Coffee not pushed
down frmly enough.
Water pushes through
the coffee too fast.
Tamp coffee grounds
more frmly. Use a fner
grnd.
Coffee too coarse. Use a concal burr grnder
to obtan a fner and more
consstent grnd.
Coffee blend not
suted to espresso
coffee.
Change brand of
espresso.
No steam
from the
frothing
wand.
Tp of frothng wand
(10) s blocked.
See chapter 8b, “Cleanng
the Frothng Wand”.
If frothng wand (10)
s clear of dred mlk
deposts, but no steam
comes out of the frothng
wand, then decalcfy
the frothng wand as
descrbed n chapter 8c.
If the applance s stll
blocked, call Customer
Servce, see chapter 11.
