Howto Replacethe Light Bulb
1. Raisethe tractor hood.
2. Turn the light socket until the tabs on the socket align
with the notches in the bezel (Figure46). Removethe
light socket.Turn the light bulband removethe bulb.
3. Install anew light bulb.Align the light socket with the
notches in the bezeland turn the light socket to lock in
position.

Howto Cleanthe MowerDeck
WARNING:Beforeyou clean themower deck, stop
the engineand disconnectthewire tothe spark
plug.
Grassand other debris on top of the mower deck can keep
the belt from working correctly. Forsafety and correct
operation, frequently cleanthetop of the mower deck.
Removegrass and debrisfrom around the pulleys and other
moving parts.
1. Move the leverfor the bladerotation control to the
ENGAGEposition (42" models only).
2. Cleanthe top of the mower deck.
3. Move the leverfor the blade rotation control to the
DISENGAGEposition (42" models only).
4. Again cleanthe top of the mowerdeck (42" models
only).
5. After you cut the grass, cleanthe bottom of the mower
deck.
Storage(over 30 days)
At the end of eachyear, preparethe unit for storage as
follows.
The Engine
Forstorage information, seethe the engine manufacturer's
instructions.
The Battery
1. Removethe battery.
2. Cleanthe batteryterminals of any deposits.
3. Chargethe battery. Seethe instructions on "HowTo
PrepareAnd ChargeThe Battery".
4. Store the battery in a cool, dry place.
NOTE:After a long time in storage, chargethe battery.
The FuelSystem
,_ WARNING: Do notdrain the gasolineinsidea
buildingor near a fire. Donot smokebecausethe
fumesfrom thefuel cancausean explosion.
1. Start the engine.
2. Runthe engine until the fuel tank and the carburetor
are out of fuel and the engine stops.
3. After storage, makesure you usefresh fuel.

1. Cleanthe dirt and grass from the engine.
2. Cleanthe mower housing.
