Preparing Pressure Washer for Storage
NOTE: Ifyou do not plan to use your unit for 30 days or
more, unit should be prepared for storage.
IMPORTANT: It isimportantto prevent gum deposits
from forming in essentialfuel system parts such as the
carburetor,fuel filter hoseortank duringstorage.Also,
experience indicatesthat alcohol-blendedfuels (called
gasoholor usingethanolor methanol)can attract mois-
ture whichleads to separation and formationofacids
during storage. Acidic gascan damage the fuel system
ofan engine whilein storage.To avoidengineproblems,
thefuel system should be emptiedbefore storageof30
daysor longer.Never useengineorcarburetorcleaner
products inthe fuel tank or permanentdamage may
occur.
Engine Preparation
Firstadd a fuel stabilizer to thefuel tank.
Run pressurewasherforafull5minutestoailowfuel
stabilizer to enter the fuel system.
Next shut off engine and disconnect thewater
supply.
Disconnect the spark plug wire and remove the spark
plug.
Add one teaspoon of oil through the spark plug
hc4e.
Place rag over spark plug hole and pull the recoil a
few times to iubricate the combustion chamber.
Replace the spark plug, but do not connect the spark
plug wire.
l a, CAUTION: Whilewhilepreparing the engine make
surewater supply isturnedon and flowingto the
unit.NEVER rununitwithoutwater supplyrunning
throughpump. Failuretodo so willcause pump
damage.
Pump Preparation
This pressure washer should be stored in sucha way
to protect itfrom freezing. Do not store this unit out-
doors or in an areawhere temperatures will fall below
32° E This can cause extensive damage to this unit.
If unithasto be stored underfreezing conditions a non-
toxic R.V.anti-freeze shouldbe put inthe pump ac-
cordingtosteps belowto protectfrom freezing.
Besure engine switch is in "OFF" position and spark
plugwire has been removedfrom spark plug.
Pull the trigger on the spray gun to release the
pressurein the high pressure hose. Detach high
pressure hose and garden hose from the unit.
Pullthe recoil on the engine 4 to 6 timesto discharge
remaining water in pump.
Tip the unit on the end with the water inlet fitting
pointing upward.
If unit will be stored where temperturee fall below
32°F, pour approximately 1/4 cup of non-toxic R.V.
anti-freeze down the fitting where the water hose
attaches to the pump.
Set unit upright and pull starter handle on engine 4 to
6 times to circulate anti-freeze in pump until anti-
freeze is discharged from the pump.
