Clean Pre-Cleaner and Air Cleaner Cartridge
Yourengine isequippedwith an oval dual element
air cleaner: thetwo elements includea foam pre-cleaner
and an air cleaner cartridge.
• To remove the air cleaner element, loosentwo cover
screwsand lift cover. Carefullyremove foam pre-
cleanerand air cleaner cartridge.
• To clean pre-cleaner and air cleaner cartridge,wash
in liquiddetergent and water. Allow to drythoroughly
before using. Do not oilthe precleaneror cartridge.
Replace ifvery dirtyor damaged.
• After cleaning the pre-cleanerand air cleaner
cartridge,replace pre-cleaner onair cleaner car
tridge.
• Installair cleanerassembly (pre-cleaner and
cartridge) inbase. Then installcover onair cleaner
and tighten screws securelyto base.
NOTE: Do not use petroleum solvents,e.g., kerosene,
whichwillcause thecartridgeto detedorete. Do not use
pressurizedairto clean cartridge. Pressurizedaircan
damage thecartridge.
Clean and Replace Spark Plug
Change thespark plug everyI00 hoursofoperationor
once each year,whichever comesfirst.Thiswill help
your engineto starteasier and runbetter.

Carburetor
The carburetor of your high pressure washer is pre-set
at the factory. The carburetor should not be tampered
with. If you pressure washer is used at an altitude in
excess of 5000 feet consult with your nearest Sears
Service Center regarding high altitude set changes.
A CAUTION: Engine speed was properly adjusted
at the factory and should require no additional
adjustment. Do not attempt to change engine
speed, If you believe the engine is running too fast
or too slow, take your pressure to a Sears
Authorized Service Center for repair and adjustment.

increase the risk of personal injury or damage to
equipment.

Nozzle Cleaning
Ifthe nozzle becomes clogged withforeign materials,
such as dirt, excessive pressure may develop. If the
nozzle becomes partially clogged or restricted, the
pump pressure will pulsate. Clean the nozzle immedi-
ately using the nozzle kit supplied and the following
instructions.
1. Shut off the pressure washer and turn off the water
supply.
2, Disconnect spark plug wire.
