TROUBLESHOOTING CHART
CAUSE
• Frozen idler pulley.
• Frozen blade mandrel.
Poor grass discharge

• Travel speed too fast.
• Wet grass.
• Mower deck not level.
• Low/uneven fire air pressure.
• Worn, bent or looseblade.
• Buildupof grass, leaves and
trash under mower.
• Mower drive belt worn.
• Blades improperlyinstalled.
• Improper blades used.
• Clogged mower deck vent
holes from buildupof
grass, leaves, and trash
around mandrels.
• Switch is"OFF".
• Bulb(s) bumed out.
• Faulty lightswitch.
• Loose or damaged widng.
• Blown fuse.
• Bad battery cell(s).
• Poor cable connections.
• Faulty regulator (if so
equipped).
• Faulty alternator.
• Freewheel controlin "disen-
gaged" position.
• Motiondrive belt worn, dam-
aged or broken.
• Air trapped in transmission
during shipment
or servicing.
• Engine throttle controlnot set
at "SLOW" positionfor 30 sec-
onds before stoppingengine.
CORRECTION
• Replace idler pulley.
• Replace blade mandrel.
• Place throttlecontrolin =FAST"
position.
• Shift to slower speed.
• Allow grass to dry before mow-
ing.
• Level mower deck.
• Check fires for proper air pres-
sure.
• Replace/sharpen blade. "13ghten
blade bolt.
• Clean underside of mower
housing.
• Replace mower drive belt.
• Reinstallblades sharp edge
down.
• Replace with blades listedin
this manual.
• Clean around mandrels to open
vent holes.
• Turn switch =ON".
• Replace bulb(s).
• Check/replace lightswitch.
• Check wiringand connections.
• Replace fuse.
• Replace battery.
• Check/clean all connections.
• Replace regulator.
• Replace alternator.
• Place freewheel controlin
=engaged" position.
• Replace motiondrive belt.
• Purge transmission.
• Move throttle controlto "SLOW"
position and allowto idlefor 30
seconds before stopping
engine.
