Controls Menu
The controls menu lets you quickly access watch features and options. You can add, reorder, and remove the
options in the controls menu (Customizing the Controls Menu, page 22).
From the watch face, swipe right.
Icon Name Description
Alarms Adds or edits an alarm (Setting an Alarm, page 16).
Assistance Sends an assistance request (Requesting Assistance, page 20).
Do Not Disturb
Enables or disables do not disturb mode to dim the screen and disable alerts and notifi
cations. For example, you can use this mode while watching a movie (Using Do Not
Disturb Mode, page 18).
Find My Phone
Plays an audible alert on your paired phone, if it is within Bluetooth range. The Bluetooth
signal strength appears on the vívosmart 5 watch screen, and it increases as you move
closer to your phone.
Music Controls music playback on your phone.
Notification Displays notifications from your phone.
Phone Enables or disables Bluetooth technology and your connection to your paired phone.
Pulse Ox Displays pulse oximeter data (Getting Pulse Oximeter Readings, page 14).
Stopwatch Starts the stopwatch (Using the Stopwatch, page 16).
Sync Syncs your watch with your paired phone.
Timer Sets a countdown timer (Starting the Countdown Timer, page 17).
Watch Settings
You can customize some settings on your vívosmart 5 watch. Additional settings can be customized on your
Garmin Connect account.

: Sets a hydration alert (Setting a Hydration Alert, page 24).
: Allows you to adjust heart rate settings (Wrist Heart Rate Monitor Settings, page 14).
: Allows you to pair your phone, sync with the Garmin Connect app, and adjust Bluetooth settings (Bluetooth
Settings, page 24).
: Allows you to select the options that appear in the morning report.
: Allows you to adjust the system settings (System Settings, page 24).
: Displays the unit ID, software version, regulatory information, license agreement, and more (Viewing Device
Information, page 29).
