Install battery pack and perform door handing process
After a few seconds, the latch bolt will retract and extend on its own to learn the orientation of
the door. This is called the door handing process, and it is crucial to lock operation.
Make sure the door is open, and
insert the battery pack.
If the touchscreen indicates a failure, attempt
this procedure again.
If the door handing process is still unsuccessful
after a second attempt, consult the online
Troubleshooting Guide, available on the SmartCode
916 product page of www.kwikset.com.

Kwikset 99160-021 Questions and Answers

#1 How does this work with the amazon echo dot? I was looking for an app for this but i don't live in the us, so it can't use a samsung hub.

It doesn’t work with Amazon echo dot.

#2 Does it work with aeotec z-stick gen5 plus?

It should work as it works with Z-wave technology. You would have to check your device to confirm compatibility but I don't see why it wouldn't be compatible.

#3 Does this have an app?

Yes it does but I don't use it. I set it and any user pins via the SmartThings connection and app since I have a smartthings hub too.
