Remove the Freezer Door on Dispenser Models
Tape the door shut with masking
tape. There is a water line that
runs from the dispenser to the
hinge area and to the water valve
at the back of the refrigerator.
This line needs to be disconnected
at the valve before you remove the
door hinge.
To disconnect this line, first
remove or bend back the
compressor compartment cover.
Use a wrench to loosen the plastic
nut (counterclockwise) and pull
out the water line. This may
require some effort. Drain the
water line into a cup.
At the front of the refrigerator,
unsnap the hinge cover at the
bottom of the fresh food door.
Remove the base grille and unclip
the water line from the hinge area
and from behind the base
channel. Pull the tubing through
to the front of the refrigerator.
With a Phillips screwdriver,
remove the hinge cover on top
of the freezer door (on some
models).
There will be 2 wire connectors
under the hinge cover. Pull them
apart.
With a T-20 Torx Driver, remove
the 2 Torx screws that hold the top
hinge to the cabinet.
