Adjusting the Focus
$ The camcorder does not have automatic focus control and focusing is done manually using the focus
ring on the attached lens.
# Depending on the lens used, the camcorder offers several ways to focus. For a list of compatible lenses
and functions that can be used, refer to the appendix (A 191).
Manual focus: Adjust the focus manually using the focus ring on the attached lens, or remotely, using the Wi-Fi
Remote application.
One-shot AF*: During manual focus, press an assignable button or use the Wi-Fi Remote application to
temporarily let the camcorder focus automatically.
Continuous AF*: The camcorder focuses automatically all the time.
* # only. Not available when a manual focus lens is attached to the camcorder.

Depending on the lens, the focus ring may be disabled when the focus mode switch is set to AF.
Required settings on EF Cinema lenses
To adjust the focus from the camcorder, you will need to change the focus mode using the controls on the lens.
Required settings vary depending on the lens. Refer to the following table and the instruction manual of the lens
used.

1 Open the [AF Mode] submenu.
[~ Camera Setup] > [AF Mode]
2 Select [One Shot] and then press SET.
• On an EF lens, you can set the lens’s focus mode switch to MF. On a
compatible EF Cinema lens, you can enable manual adjustment on the
lens (see above).
3 Turn the focus ring on the lens to adjust the focus.
