Use Guide
Taking a Measurement
- Ensure the scale is on a hard, flat surface.
- Step onto the scale barefoot. Ensure your feet are clean, dry, and making full contact with the ITO electrodes on the glass surface.
- Stand still, with your feet slightly apart and not touching each other. Distribute your weight evenly.

- Hold still while the scale analyzes your body composition. The display will cycle through Heart Rate, Heart Index, and Body Balance Rate.
- The measurement is complete when the readings stabilize. Step off the scale.
- The scale will automatically turn off after a few seconds.
Note: For consistent results, try to weigh yourself at the same time of day (e.g., in the morning after using the bathroom and before eating or drinking).
Understanding the Display
The scale's LED screen shows the following during a measurement:
- Weight: Displayed in your selected unit (lb, kg, st).
- Heart Rate (HR): An estimated heart rate in beats per minute (BPM).
- Heart Index: A calculated index related to cardiovascular state.
- Body Balance Rate: An indicator of weight distribution between left and right sides.
All other body composition data (BMI, body fat, muscle mass, etc.) is available for review within the INSMART Health app.
Using the INSMART Health App
- Viewing Data: Open the app to see a dashboard with your latest measurements and trends over time.
- Charts & Trends: The app automatically generates charts to visualize your progress for each metric.
- Multiple Users: The scale and app support unlimited users. Each person should have their own profile in the app for accurate calculations. The scale will recognize different users based on their weight and sync data to the corresponding profile.
- Offline Mode: The scale has a built-in memory chip. It can store measurements and sync them to the app the next time your phone is in Bluetooth range and the app is open.
- Data Sharing: You can share your results with friends or family from within the app. The app can also sync data to Apple Health, Google Fit, or Fitbit.
Changing Units
The unit of measurement (lb/kg/st) can be changed within the INSMART Health app settings. The scale's display will reflect the chosen unit.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the glass platform with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or submerge the scale in water.
- Storage: Store in a dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity.
- Batteries: Replace the 3 AAA batteries when the low battery icon appears on the display or if the scale becomes unresponsive. Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.
- Handling: Avoid dropping the scale or placing heavy objects on it beyond its 227 kg / 500 lb capacity.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Solution |
| Scale does not turn on. | Check that 3 AAA batteries are correctly installed. Replace with new batteries if necessary. |
| Display shows "Err" or "LO". | This indicates an overload (beyond 227kg) or unstable surface. Step off and ensure the scale is on a hard, flat surface. "LO" indicates low battery. |
| Inconsistent weight readings. | Ensure the scale is on a hard, flat surface (not carpet). Ensure your feet are dry and you are standing still. |
| Scale does not connect to the app. |
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- Ensure the INSMART Health app has permission to use Bluetooth.
- Step onto the scale to activate it, then check the app's device list.
- Restart the app and your phone's Bluetooth.
- Ensure your phone's OS meets the minimum requirements (iOS 8.0 / Android 6.0).
|
| Body fat or other metrics seem inaccurate. |
Body composition metrics are estimates. For best results:
- Weigh yourself at a consistent time of day.
- Ensure your user profile in the app (age, height, gender) is correct.
- Measurements can be affected by hydration levels. Avoid measuring immediately after exercise, eating, or drinking large amounts of water.
