4. Getting Started

4.1 Installing the Batteries

1. Turn the scale over and locate the battery compartment on the bottom.
2. Open the battery cover.
3. Insert the 3 provided AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery cover securely.

4.2 Placing the Scale

For accurate measurements:

• Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface (e.g., tile, hardwood floor).
• Avoid placing it on carpets, rugs, or uneven surfaces.

4.3 Downloading the App

1. On your smartphone, open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

5. Using the Scale

5.1 Basic Weighing (Without the App)

1. Ensure the scale is on a flat, hard surface.
2. Step onto the scale barefoot. The display will light up and show "0.0".
3. Stand still until your weight is displayed and locked (usually a few seconds).
4. Step off. The scale will turn off automatically.

5.2 Measuring Body Composition (With the App)

1. Enable Phone Settings:
   • Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone.
   • For Android 6.0 and above, you must also turn on Location Services.
2. Open the App & Connect:
   • Open the INSMART Health app.
   • Create a user profile and enter your personal data (age, height, gender).
   • Ensure the scale is nearby. The app should detect it automatically.
3. Take a Measurement:
   • In the app, tap the blue Measure button.
   • Step onto the scale barefoot, ensuring your dry, bare feet are touching all four metal electrodes.
   • Stand still for approximately 10 seconds.
   • The weight will appear on the scale display. The full body composition data will sync and appear in the app shortly after.

5.3 Using the App

• Viewing Data: The app displays all 17 body metrics in a clear layout.
• Tracking Trends: The app automatically generates charts to track your progress over time.
• Multiple Users: Each family member can create their own profile. The scale will recognize users based on weight differentials.
