Open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale. Insert 3 AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment.
Step 2: Place the Scale
Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface (e.g., tile, hardwood floor). Avoid carpets or uneven surfaces to ensure accurate measurements.
Step 3: Download the App
On your smartphone, download the "INSMART Health" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Step 4: Initial Calibration
Step onto the scale with bare feet to turn it on. Step off and wait for the display to show "0.0" or turn off. This calibrates the scale.
3.2 Pairing with Your Smartphone
- Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
Note for Android Users: If your phone runs Android 6.0 or higher, you must also enable Location Services for the app to pair with the scale.
- Open the INSMART Health app.
- Create a user account and fill in your personal profile (age, height, gender). Accurate profile data is essential for correct body composition calculations.
- The app will guide you to pair with the scale. Ensure the scale is awake (tap it to turn on the display) and nearby.
4. Use Guide
4.1 Taking a Measurement
- Ensure your feet are bare, dry, and clean.
- Open the INSMART Health app and tap the "Measure" button (blue button).
- Step onto the scale, ensuring your bare feet are in contact with all four metal electrodes.
- Stand still, with your feet slightly apart. The measurement will complete in approximately 10 seconds.
- The weight will show on the scale's LED display. All body composition data will sync and appear in the app.

The LED display shows your weight in your selected unit (kg, lb, st). It may briefly show icons (like a heart for heart rate) during measurement. For full body composition data, refer to the paired smartphone app.
5. Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the glass platform with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or submerge the scale in water.
- Batteries: Replace the 3 AAA batteries when the low battery icon appears on the display.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures.
- Handling: Avoid dropping the scale or placing heavy objects on it. If moved or flipped, recalibrate it by stepping on and off once.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem |
Possible Cause |
Solution |
| Scale does not turn on. |
Dead or incorrectly inserted batteries. |
Replace or reinsert the 3 AAA batteries. |
| Inconsistent or inaccurate weight readings. |
Scale placed on soft or uneven surface. |
Move the scale to a hard, flat floor. |
| App cannot find/connect to the scale. |
Bluetooth or location (Android) is off. Scale is not awake. |
Enable Bluetooth (and Location for Android). Tap the scale to wake it, then try pairing again. |
| Body fat data seems incorrect. |
User profile (age, height, gender) is inaccurate or missing. Feet are not making full contact with electrodes. |
Update your profile in the app. Ensure feet are bare, dry, and covering all four electrodes. |
