AUXILIARY FOOT BRAKE
The hydraulic auxiliary brake system requires no adjustment. Check the brake
fluid level frequently for the auxiliary brake system.
BRAKE INSPECTION
WARNING
Do not apply WD-40 or any petroleum product to brake discs. These types of
products are flammable and may also reduce the friction between the brake
pad and caliper.
1. Check the brake system for fluid
leaks.
2. Check the brake pedal for
excessive travel or a spongy feel.
3. Check the friction pads for wear,
damage and looseness.
4. Check brake discs for signs of
cracks, excessive corrosion,
warping or other damage. Clean
any grease using an approved
brake cleaner or alcohol.
5. Inspect the brake disc spline and
pad wear surface for excessive
wear. Change pads when worn to
0.030" (0.762 mm).
SEAT REMOVAL
1. Locate the seat removal latch in the center of the seat’s rear.
2. Pull on the latch handle to disengage the seat from the vehicle’s frame.
3. Remove the seat.
PASSENGER SEAT REMOVAL (SPORTSMAN TOURING)
To remove the passenger seat, pull the top of the seatback slightly rearward to
relieve tension while pulling the seat release latch upward. When the latch
releases, roll the seat assembly forward and lift the seat away from the vehicle.
Always make sure the passenger seat is properly installed and securely latched
before operating with a passenger.
SIDE PANEL/FOOTWELL REMOVAL
1. Remove the seat before removing a side panel.
