Brother SE-400 Questions and Answers

#1 Can I scan a design on my computer and then have the
embroidery function to a zigzag or blanket stitch around it?

Nope. This is an entry level machine and is not capable of
performing anything like that. The designs must be
digitized in a format the machine understands. Even if you
scan a design, the machine will not translate that. You need
to do a lot more research to understand what these
machines are capable of performing.

#2 Can you use it with a Mac?

Yes, I have a Mac, it's compatible.

#3 Does this machine have mirror imaging?

Yes it does. Just got this machine and it looks like two
triangles in a square.

#4 Does this come with an instructional DVD?

Mine did not come with one. However, there are built-in
tutorials on how to use the SE400's sewing and embroidery
functions, right on the LCD touch screen display. I found
them quite easy, and the instruction book is very good. For
one thing, they don't put all the languages on one page,
something that makes reading any ONE language a pain.

#5 Is it compatible with Apple computers for downloading?

Yes, I googled "downloading embroidery files from MAC to
Brother SE400" and found a very complete instruction.

#6 Can I use this to embroider towels?

Yes, You can. You can use to embroider everything.
