#1 Where is the filters on the bottom?

The Vertuo Coffee and Espresso Machine does not have filters. The Nespresso VertuoLine machines uses patented Centrifusion™ technology, an intelligent brewing system that allows the machine to recognize the capsules and create a perfect cup of coffee according to the specific parameters of each brew to brew your capsules gently and fully by spinning the capsules within the machine. When rotation of the capsule starts, a pressure is implied due to the centrifugal forces.

#2 Had this unit for 4 years and now my coffee tastes very watered down? Any idea why?

As part of your machine’s maintenance, please follow the first-time use steps at least once a week, to rinse away any granule buildup in the head of your machine. Also, you should descale your machine every 3 months or 300 capsules, whichever comes first. If this doesn’t work, please contact Nespresso by calling freely at 1-800-562-1465.
