CARING FOR THE FILTERS
The grease filters should be removed and cleaned often, at least once a month.
NOTE: If your microwave hood combination is installed to recirculate air, the charcoal filter
(Part No. 5230W1A011C) available from Sears by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME.
The charcoal filter cannot be cleaned and should be replaced every 6 to 12 months.
Grease filters (Part No. 5230W1A012C):
Charcoal filter (Part No. 5230W1A011C):
1. Unplugmicrowave ovenor disconnect power.
2. To remove grease filters, slide eachfilterto the
side. Pullfilters downward and push tothe other
side. The filter will drop out.

2. Removethe vent grille mounting screw.
3. Tip the grille left and forward, then lift out to remove.
3. Soak grease filtersin hotwaterand a mild
detergent. Scrub and swish to remove embedded
dirt and grease. Rinsewell and shake to dry. Do
not cleanfilters with ammonia, corrosive cleaning
agents such as lye-based oven cleaners,or place
them in a dishwasher. The filterswill turn blackor
could be damaged.

4. To replace greasefilters, slidefilter in theframe slot
on one side ofthe opening. Push filterupward and
push to the otherside to lock into place.
