LCD COLOR
You can adjust the color on the LCD screen

You can adjust the brightness of the

Standard brightness.
BRIGHT
Brightens the viewfinder screen.
When you connect your camcorder to outside
power sources, [BRIGHT] is automatically
selected for the setting.
When you select [BRIGHT], battery life is
slightly reduced during recording.
VF WIDE DISP
You can select how a 16:9 aspect ratio
picture appears in the viewfinder.
LETTER BOX
Normal setting (standard type of display)
SQUEZE (Squeeze)
Expands the picture vertically when black
bands appear at the top and bottom of the
screen in 16:9 aspect ratio.
A/VDV OUT
When you set [A/VDV OUT] ( )
to [ON], you can convert the signal to the
appropriate one by connecting a digital
device and an analog device to your
camcorder. See page 84 for details.
VIDEO INPUT
Selects the video plug to connect when you
input the picture from the other device via
A/V connecting cable.
VIDEO
Connects via video plug of the A/V
connecting cable (supplied).
S VIDEO
Connects via S VIDEO plug of the A/V
connecting cable with S VIDEO cable
(optional).

USB CAMERA
When you set [USB CAMERA] to [DV
STREAM] and connect your camcorder
to your computer via the USB cable
(supplied), you can view the picture your
camcorder is currently seeing on your
computer like a live camera.
You can also import the picture to your
computer. Refer to the “First Step Guide”
on the supplied CD-ROM for details.
[USB CAMERA] is available only for Windows
XP Service Pack1 (SP1) or Windows XP
Service Pack2 (SP2) supporting High-Speed
USB (USB 2.0) device.

GUIDEFRAME
You can display the frame and check that
the subject is horizontal or vertical by
setting [GUIDEFRAME] to [ON]. The
frame is not recorded. Press DISPLAY
BATT INFO to make the frame disappear.
Pointing the subject at the cross point of the
guide frame makes a balanced composition.
DATA CODE
Displays information recorded
automatically (data code) during recording.
OFF
Data code is not displayed.
