All electric heaters, no matter the method of creating the heat (resistance, ceramic, or infrared), produce the same amount of heat per watt of input. Almost all are 1500 watts on the highest setting. So essentially ALL electric heaters (except heat pumps) create heat with the same efficiency. Heaters vary in other ways such as the direction and force of how the air is dispersed, safety features and appearance. If you want to spend $290 for something that looks cool but produces no more heat with no greater efficiency than a $15 Pelonis, then you certainly can. But please know that you're not getting more heat or greater efficiency. If you're in doubt about any of this, talk to an electrical engineer at your local university. As for the "cooling" effect of the Dyson AM04, it's just a fan that circulates air, nothing more.

Cooling is very good on this model. I have it in a family room (about 15'x15') and it cools very nicely.
