Operation
•Donotputhandsorfeetnearorunderrotatingparts.Keep
clearofthedischargeopeningatalltimes.
•Exerciseextremecautionwhenoperatingonorcrossing
graveldrives,walks,orroads.Stayalertforhiddenhazards
ortrafc.
•Afterstrikingaforeignobject,stopthemotor,unplugthe
extensioncord,removethekey,andthoroughlyinspect
theapplianceforanydamage.Repairanydamagebefore
startingandoperatingtheappliance.
•Iftheapplianceshouldstarttovibrateabnormally,stopthe

Chute
Handcontactwiththerotatingrotorbladesinsidethedischarge
chuteisthemostcommoncauseofinjuryassociatedwith
snowthrowers.Neveruseyourhandtocleanoutthedischarge
chute.
Toclearthechute:
•Shutthemotoroff,removethekey,andunplugthe
extensioncordfromthemachine!
•Wait10secondstobesuretherotorbladeshavestopped
rotating.
•Alwaysuseaclean-outtool,notyourhands.
MaintenanceandStorage
•Checkallfastenersatfrequentintervalsforpropertightness
toensurethattheapplianceisinsafeworkingcondition.
•AlwaysrefertotheOperator’sManualforimportantdetailsif

strikesanobjectduringoperation,stopthemachine,unplug
theextensioncord,removetheobstruction,andcheckthe
machinefordamage.
•Beginremovingsnowneartheelectricaloutletandwork
outward.Blowbackandforth,notawayfromandtowardthe
outlet.
•Whenturningattheendofaswath,stepoverthecordand
turnthemachine.
•Alwaysoverlapeachswathanddischargethesnowdownwind
whenpossible.
WARNING
Whenusingthedischargechutehandle,never
directthesnowdischargechuteattheoperatoror
bystanders.Themachinecanthrowobjectsand
causeseriouspersonalinjury.
Whenusingthedischargechutehandle,always
turnthedischargechuteintheoppositedirection
fromwhereyouorbystandersarestanding.
•Keeptheextensioncordclearofobstructions,sharpobjects,
andallmovingparts.Donotpullsharplyoncordorabuse
itinanymanner.Inspecttheextensioncordfrequentlyfor
damagethatmayresultinanelectricshock.Iftheextension
cordisdamaged,replaceit.
•Incoldandsnowyweatherconditions,somecontrolsand
movingpartsmayfreeze.Therefore,ifanycontrolbecomes

•Whenoperatingthemachine,keepthewheels1inch(2.5cm)
offthepavementbytippingthemachineforward.Thishelps
preventthesnowfrombuildinguponthewheels.
•Afterclearingthesnow,letthemotorrunforafewminutes
sothatmovingpartsdonotfreeze.Thenshutoffthemotor,
waitforallmovingpartstostop,andwipetheiceandsnow
offthemachine.Rotatethechutecrankseveraltimesto
removeanysnow.

WARNING
Iftheextensioncordispluggedintothemachine,
