Masterbuilt MB20012420 Questions and Answers

#1 About how much oil for shrimp & fish?

Use the same amount of oil no matter what you are frying it has minimum and maximum lines

#2 Does this have a cook timer built in to the unit?

There is a timer for the unit but it’s function is for the temperature of the oil, so you’ll know when it’s hot enough for frying. We used a meat thermometer to determine if the turkey was cooked/fried to appropriate temperature.

#3 Would a 3 gallon container of peanut oil be sufficient to fry a turkey?

Yes, the maximum fill line is approximately 2.5gal and should be used to that line any time you fry.

#4 How do I dispose of the oil?

It needs to be cooled and can be drained back into the original jug. Please look at local regulations on discarding oil.

#5 Can it fry 2-10 pound turkeys at once?

No, this unit is designed to fry one turkey, at a time.

#6 Is the outside cool to the touch when cooking?

It gets warm but won’t burn your hand.

#7 Can I fry flour coated chicken without flour falling off? Not liquid coated! Flour coating

Yes you can use flour to fry but that just makes the oil very dirty and have to be changed before the food starts to burn and brown unevenly.
