#1 I cant make it longer because the plastic srews are stuck?

Make sure your twisting the right ones and dont tighten them too much

#2 Can it be used without the extension pole?

The Scotts Outdoor Pole Saw will not be able to be used without the extension pole.

#3 Does this have a reset button?

This pole saw does not have a reset button.

#4 Can the cutting head angle be adjusted? If so, how is the locking mechanism?

Yes, the cutting head angle can be adjusted. I changed angles multiple times when removing a 30' aspen tree. The locking mechanism worked well at first but after 8 or 10 adjustments it was not reliable. That may be easily fixable but I didn't bother to deal with it. I will admit that there was a fair amount of pressure being put on the saw as most cuts were made on limbs 5" thick or larger.

#5 Can the saw be removed from the pole?

You can remove the saw from the unit however it would need the control handle attached in order to operate. The unit is not intended to be used as a shortened saw.

#6 Mine has a slight bit of side to side play at the joint where the cutting angle is adjusted (2 opposing orange buttons). Is this normal?

Yeah that doesnt effect the cutting chain.

#7 What is the engine oil type for Scotts PS45010S?

The engine of the Scotts PS45010S uses oil type is SAE 30.
