TROUBLESHOOTING
41
|
Problem: The Tread does not register heart rate data.
Solution: Check your heart rate monitor.
y Is the sensor receiving data? You may need to tighten the strap or moisten the
electrodes to help the monitor pick up your heart rate.
y Is the heart rate monitor paired with a different device?
y Does the monitor battery need to be replaced?
Keep in mind that the Tread will only display heart rate data when a class is in progress.
Problem: The Tread won’t turn on.
Solution: First make sure that the power cord is securely attached to the Tread and the
outlet, and that the Tread is switched on. Then press and hold the center button for a
few seconds. The control lights should turn on. If the Tread is still unresponsive, contact
member support.
Problem: The Speed and/or Incline knob does not work.
Solution: If the Tread is awake and the controls are not working, check the control lights.
The Tread will function only when the safety key is present and fully engaged. Solid red
lights indicate that the safety key is not connected. Try detaching and reattaching it.
Blinking red lights indicate an error. Follow the instructions on the screen, or, if there are no
instructions, use the power switch on the front of the deck next to the power cord plug-in to
turn the Tread off and then on. If the issue persists after power cycling, contact
member support.
Problem: The touchscreen has trouble connecting to Wi-Fi.
Solution: Peloton recommends a minimum of 10-15 mbps download and 2.5 mbps
upload speed for your touchscreen. Wi-Fi extenders and boosters, distance from the router,
and obstructions like walls and furniture can weaken your Wi-Fi signal. If you continue to
have trouble with your Wi-Fi connection, you can connect to a Local Area Network (LAN).
Use an adapter to connect an Ethernet cable to the USB-C network port on the back of
the touchscreen.
Problem: The Tread is producing an unusual noise.
Solution: Immediately stop the belt and set the incline to zero. Power down and unplug the
Tread and contact member support.
Problem: The belt won’t move.
Solution: First, make sure the Tread is awake. If the screen is dark, the Tread is asleep and
will not work. If the Tread is awake, try detaching and reattaching the safety key. If you
are still unable to start the belt, use the power switch at the front of the deck to turn the
Tread off and then on. If you are unable to start the belt after power cycling, contact
member support.
Problem: Control lights are on, but the touchscreen is blank.
Solution: If you have just turned on the Tread, wait a few moments for the system to boot.
If the screen still doesn’t turn on, try to wake the system by touching the screen or by
pressing and holding the center button for a few seconds. If the screen is still unresponsive,
contact member support.

WARNING
:
The Peloton Tread was not designed for assembly and installation by
consumers. The Peloton Tread assembly instructions are intended to assist trained,
professional installers, using specialized tools, in assembling the Peloton Tread.
The Peloton Tread weighs 290 lb/132 kg and requires more than one person to
assemble and/or move. Do not attempt to move the Tread with fewer than two
people. Improper assembly of the Peloton Tread can lead to serious injury. Damage
or equipment failure resulting from the improper or negligent assembly will not
be covered under Peloton’s warranties. If you use these assembly instructions to
assemble, disassemble, or move the Peloton Tread, you do so entirely at your own
risk. By undertaking assembly of your Peloton Tread, you agree to waive and release
Peloton from any and all claims that you may have resulting from the assembly of the
Peloton Tread by anyone other than a trained professional.
WARNING
:
Perform a complete visual inspection of the Peloton Tread and test all
features and functions prior to use.
TROUBLESHOOTING CONTINUED
Problem: The belt comes to a stop during a workout.
Solution: If an error occurs during operation, the Tread belt will come to a stop. The stop
may be gradual or more sudden, depending on the error and your speed.
Errors could include:
y The safety key disconnecting
y The Tread not registering the presence of a user below the minimum user weight
y A temporary issue with the touchscreen software
If an error occurs, follow the instructions on the screen. If there are no instructions, use the
power switch on the front of the deck next to the power cord plug-in to turn the Tread off
and then on. Wait 30 seconds before switching it back on. See support.onepeloton.com for
more information on possible errors.
Problem: Control lights are red.
Solution:
y Solid red lights indicate that the safety key is not connected. The Tread will
function only when the safety key is present and fully engaged. Try detaching
and reattaching it.
y Blinking red lights indicate an error. Follow the instructions on the screen, or,
if there are no instructions, use the power switch on the front of the deck next to the
power cord plug-in to turn the Tread off and then on. See support.onepeloton.com for
more information on possible errors.
