I use the wall switch 100% of the time. I usually set the speed of the blades at 3 (bottom up-down switch on right) and turn the light on and off with the top right up-down switch. The top button on the left makes the blades go forward or reverse. The bottom button on the left is on-off switch

This is a hardwired ceiling fan switch. If the fan is wired into the overhead wiring of your room and you install this in place of the wall switch, following the instructions, it will work very well..... with all the variable speeds, etc., working separately. I find that I use the hard-wired wall switch more often than the remote.
