PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES WHAT TO DO
COOKTOP
There is a metal sheen
on the glass.
Cookware with copper or
aluminium base.
Use cookware with flat and
smooth bases. See ‘Cooking
guidelines’.
The glass is being
scratched.
Rough-edged cookware. Clean the ignitor(s). See
‘Care and cleaning’ for
instructions.
Unsuitable, abrasive scourer
being used.
See ‘Care and cleaning’.
Cooking zones cannot
be turned off.
Technical fault. Switch the power to the
cooktop off at the wall and
call your Authorized Repairer
or Customer Care.
Oven fan comes on
while using the cooktop.
A cooling fan built into
your range has come on
to prevent the electronics
from overheating. It may
continue to run even after
you've turned the cooktop
off.
This is normal and needs
no action. Do not switch
the power to the cooktop
off at the wall while the
fan is running.
