Front Final Gear Oil
Refer to Safety Precautions on page 105.
Check the final gear oil level every 1,800 miles (3,000 km) or 300
hours of operating your Honda SXS and add, if needed.
1.
Park your Honda SXS on a firm, level surface.
2.
Remove the oil fill cap.
3.
Make sure the oil level is at the lower edge of the oil fill inspection
hole.
4.
Apply a thin coat of grease to a new O-ring, and insert it into the
oil fill cap groove.
5.
Install and tighten oil fill cap to the specified torque:
9 lbf·ft (12 N·m, 1.2 kgf·m)
Oil Recommendation
API classification GL-4 or GL-5 except oils labeled as
energy conserving on the circular

type hypoid gear oil
viscosity (weight) SAE 80W-90
suggested oil Honda shaft drive oil or equivalent
