shows the mounts for the lower
LATCH anchors.
Seats equipped with lower an‐
chors are marked with a pair, (2),
of LATCH symbols.
For vehicles equipped with a
middle seat:
It is not recommended to use
the inner lower anchors of
standard outer LATCH positions
to fasten a child restraint system
on the middle seat. Use the ve‐
hicle safety belt instead for the
middle seat.
Exposing the lower LATCH anchors
1.
Grab the cover at the flap and open.
2. Slide the cover sideways into the gap be‐
tween seat and armrest.
Before installing LATCH child
restraint fixing systems
Pull the safety belt away from the area of the
child restraint system.

Install child restraint system, see manufactur‐
er's information.
2. Ensure that both LATCH anchors are prop‐
erly connected.
i-Size child restraint systems
General information
i-Size is a regulation for child restraint systems
that can be used to approve child restraint sys‐
tems.
Symbol Meaning
If this symbol can be seen in the
vehicle, the vehicle was ap‐
proved according to i-Size. The
symbol indicates the mounts for
the lower anchors of the system.
The respective symbol shows
the anchor for the upper retain‐
ing strap.

with tether strap
Safety information
Warning
If the upper retaining strap is incorrectly used
for the child restraint system, the protective ef‐
fect can be reduced. There is a risk of injury.
Make sure that the upper retaining strap does
not run over sharp edges and is not twisted as
it passes the upper anchor.
Warning
If the rear backrest is not locked, the protective
effect of the child restraint system is limited or
there is none. In certain situations, for instance
braking maneuvers or in case of an accident,
the rear backrest can fold forward. There is a
